Dr. Seuss Week - Day 2 - Tuesday, February 24

On Tuesday our book of the day was Oh, The Places You'll Go!

For this day we wore our favorite vacation shirts or a shirt of a profession that we would like to be in the future! Both were in keeping with the theme of "places we would like to go"!

 

We also had a guest reader, Mrs. Duke. She is on our school board. She is a former teacher, reading coach, and assistant principal and she is a fabulous reader! Enjoy the pictures of our day!

 Oh, first a completed bulletin board from yesterday, and one that I forgot to post! Great ideas! I love the Seussical borders!

Dr. Seuss Week - Day 1 - The Foot Book

To celebrate Dr. Seuss Week each day we have a different dress-up day that ties in with a Dr. Seuss book. On Monday, February 23, the book of the day was The Foot Book. Our dress-up was "wear sneakers or mix-match shoes"!

We also invite guest readers to come and read to some classes. On Monday, even though we were delayed because of wintery weather, Mr. Hastings came with his bag of Dr. Seuss books and did an excellent job as always! He is a former teacher, principal, and Central Office employee of Decatur City Schools. His daughter is also our kindergarten teacher and he has three grandchildren at our school!
