Fund-a-Need
We have some books in our biography section that are fantastic! They are these "Who Was"...books (pictured below). They are chapter books that are right on the grade level for most of our children. All our second graders get to a biography project where they each have to choose a famous person, do a report on them, then dress up as that person and share what they learned about their person with their classmates. I would like to have more of these books, to give students more choice in what famous person they would like to research. Many of our students have to go to the public library to get their biography because we have run out or don't have the person they want. In an effort to get funds to purchase more books, I have written two Fund-a-Need requests with Decatur City Schools Foundation, one is for books about women and they other is for books about men. I have included some pictures of the students dressed up from last year. It might give you current second grade families some ideas about costumes!
